アメリカでスキーを楽しむ、Timberline <Enjoy skiing in USA>
昨シーズン（2019-2020）はMt.HoodにあるTimberlineスキー場のシーズン券を購入した。
<I bought Ski-ticket of Timberline in the last season (2019-2020).>
12月から15回ぐらいは行ったと思うが、COVID19のために3月には閉鎖となってしまった。
<I started skiing in December 2019, and I enjoyed aroud 15 times. But it was closed due to COVID19 in March 2020.>
4月の半ばから再開したのだが予約制となり、週末に予約しようとしてもすぐに定員となり行けなかった。
<It restarted in the middle of April with reservation system. I tryed to take a reservation in the weekend some times, but I couldn't.>
今シーズンはチケット購入の案内が届き、購入を迷ったが結局購入することにした。
<Before this season, I received an information about purchasing of the ticket. At first, I conserned to not be able to take reservation. But finaly, I bought it.>
今シーズンは、Timberlineとそのすぐ近くのSki Bowlの両方のスキー場が楽しめるシーズン券を購入した。
<My season ticket allows me to enjoy not only Timberline but also Ski Bowl that locates near Timberline.>
$550ぐらいだったと思う。日本のスキー場の半額だな。
<The price was aroud $550. It is half of Jananese Ski ticket.>
Timberlineの特徴は、標高が高く長いシーズン楽しめることだ。
<If I say Timberline's feature, people can enjoy long period because of high elevation.>
冬券は5月のメモリアルデー（2021年は5月31日）まで有効だ。
<The winter ticket is valid by memoryal day.>
Ski Bowlはまだ行ったことがないのだが、昨シーズンに行っていた方に聞いたところ、ナイタースキーが楽しめるということと、ものすごく斜度がきついコースがあるとのことだった。
<I haven't been Ski Bowl, but I heard that people can enjoy nighter skiing, and there is very steap slope.>
自分は、スキーは楽しむ程度で決して上手ではないのだが、とにかく何でも楽しもうと言うのがモットーである。
<I'm not good skier, just enjoy skier. And I enjoy everything. It's my motto.>
まず一昨日はTimberlineに行ってきた。予約システムはなかった。
<I went Timberline the day before yesterday. The reservation system didn't work.>
この日は快晴だ。
<The wether was perfect.>
上の方のコースにはところどころ岩が見えている。
<Some rocks apper on the surface.>
ただしゲレンデは広いので全く問題ない。
<Skiing area is large, so there is no problem.>
ここは火山噴火による大きな岩がゴロゴロしていて、なおかつ標高が高いこの辺りは風が強いために積雪量が少ないのではないかと思う。
<There are a lot of big rocks due to the eraption, and strong wind due to high elevation brows snow, I guess.>
この写真の左の奥に尖ったピークが見えるが、これはJeffersonだと思う。
<In this picture, I could see steap peak at left side. It is Mt. Jefferson.>
その直ぐ左にも3つのピークが重なって見えるが、これは夏にキャンプとハイキングを楽しんだスリーシスターズだと思う。
<I could also see three peaks that locate left side of Jefferson, and they should be three-sisters. I enjoyed hyking and camping in last summer.>

また、右の手前には別のスキー場が見える。これがSki Bowlだと思う。
<In addition, I could see ski-area at right side. It is Ski Bowl.>
次に、Mt.Hoodを見てみよう。標高3429mの頂が直ぐ目の前にある。
<Next, let's see Mt.Hood. I could see the top as if it were right in front of me>
一番上のリフトの降り口が2,600mなのでそこまで行ってみたいのだが、まだそのリフトが動いているのを見たことがない。
<I want to go the most upper lift that elevates 8,500ft., but I haven't seen the lift working.>
今行けるのは2330m(7000ft)までだ。
御覧の通り最高のスキー日和にもかかわらず、ガラガラだった。
<As you can see there are not many skiers.>
ちなみに食事はテイクアウトのみのサービスだった。
<As for a cafeteria, only takeout is abailable.>
結局この日は、午前中に16本滑って、初滑りのわりに調子がいいなと思っていたら、そのあと足がつってしまって、休憩の後は4本のみで早くに帰宅することにした。
<In the end, I skied 16 runs in the morning and thought I was in good shape for my first run of this season, but then I got a leg cramp and decided to go home early after only 4 runs after the break.>
しかし最高のスキーで存分に楽しめた。
<But anyway, I enjoyed very much.>
このような状況下でも営業をしてくださっている従業員の皆さんに感謝する。

この日は雲海が一日中奇麗だった。
<"Unkai" is seeing cloud from top side. And the day has a good "Unkai" senary.>
