アメリカのトレイルCape Hom Trailを楽しむ <Enjoy "Cape Hom Trail">
アメリカには国立公園以外にも大きな公園が多い。
<There are a lot of huge parks in US.>
昨日はアパートから車で20分と近いコロンビア川沿いの国立野生生物保護区を楽しもうと向かったのだが、COVID19の影響で閉鎖されていた。
<Yesterday, I headed to "Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge" that locates bisides Colombia river and close with my apartment. Unfortunately, it was closed due to COVID19.>
どういう基準なのかわからないが、先日行った別の国立野生生物保護区は空いていたんだが。
<I'm not sure why it was closed despite of opening of another Wildlife Refuge that also near my apartment.>
仕方がないので、近くのトレイル（Cape Hom Trail）を楽しむことにした。
<Then, I decided enjoying a trail near there.>
この日は風がきつくて、Viewポイントでは吹き飛ばされそうで腰をかがめながら雄大な景色を楽しんだ。
<Wind was teribury strong yesterday, so I kept stable shape and enjoyed granted senary.>
後で気づいたんだが、このViewポンとは、”Windblown Fir”というらしい。どうりで風が強いはずだ。
<I nothiced later that the name of this view point is "Windblow Fir". I understand why it is.>
ちなみにこのコロンビア川は年中風が強いことで有名らしく、少し内陸に行くと、有力発電用の風車が沢山稼働している。
<I heard Colombia River is well known as strong wind area. And I have seen a lot of wind turbins are working at a little bit upper area.>
この後、下る方向に進んでトレイルの名の由来であるCape Hom 滝を見たかったのだが、トレイルが閉鎖されていた。
<I wanted to see "Cape Hom falls" that is origine of this trail's name, but the trail was closed.>
そこで、折り返し山へ登る方向を楽しむことにした。
<So, I turned the trail, then, I enjoyed oposit direction.>
この写真ではトレイルの左側に一定間隔で木が植わっている。
<In this picture, many trees were planted in same periods in left side of the trail.>
この木のさらに左側は牧場になっていて、これらの木は風を防ぐために植わっているんだと思う。
<Further to the left of these trees is a pasture, and I think these trees are planted to protect against the wind.>
奇麗に整備されたトレイルは歩きやすかった。
<The trail is good condition for enjoy walking.>
ところどころ積雪があり本格的な冬到来が間近だと感じた。
<There was snow on the ground in some places, which made me feel that the arrival of full-blown winter was just around the corner.>
いくつかのView Pointからの眺めを楽しんだ後、もと来た道を戻った。
<After enjoying the view from several view points, I went back the way I came.>
まだ5時前だったが、冬至が近く辺りは暗くなり始めていた。
<It was not yet five o'clock, but the winter solstice was approaching and it was starting to get dark.>
約3時間の短いハイキングだったが、楽しかった。
<It was a short hike of about three hours, but it was fun.>
