アメリカでスキーを楽しむ２<Enjoy Ski in USA, 2, Ski Bowl>
先週はいつもとは違うスキー場に行ってみたので記録する。
<I visited another ski grand in last weekend. (March13)>
ここはSki Bowlというスキー場で、いつも行っているTimberlineスキー場のすぐ近くだ。
<It's Ski Bowl that locates near Timberline that I enjoy usually.>
オレゴン州の26号線沿いにあり、Timberlineのように車で登っていく必要が無くタイヤチェーンの心配もなかった。
<It locates besides Rute 26 in Oregon. It's not needed to drive up to the mountain, and I didn't concern about tire chane.>
リフト稼働の開始は9時だが、8時前に到着した。
<Despite of the starting at 9am, I arrived before 8am.>
ちなみに自分のシーズン券はFusion Passというもので、両方のスキー場で使用可能だ。
<As for my seazon checket, it's Fusion Pass and valid for both.>

Timberlineだったら最も近い駐車場は半分ぐらい埋まっている時間帯だったが、ここは10台ぐらいしか無かった。
<Usually, half of the parking lot are full in Timberline at around 8am, but in here, only ~10 cars were parked at that time.>
入り口に立てられたフラッグが気分を盛り上げられてくれた。
<In front of the entranse, there were flags, and it made me excite.>
正面のフェンスはCOVID19のために日中も閉じたままだった。
<The front fense was closed even in daytime due to COVID19.>
来場者は向かって右側の建屋の裏道を通ってゲレンデに入る。
<Visitors enter from back pass of the right side of lodge.>
このスキー場の一番高いところまできた。標高は1500m。
<I came the top of this ski ground. the elevation is 5,000ft>
目の前にはMt.Hootが見える。真正面はTimberlineスキー場だ。
<There is Mt.Hoot. The strate ahead is Timberline.>
写真の左端にはMt.St. Helensで、中央付近にはMt.Rainierも見えた。
<The left side of the picture is Mt.St Helens, and Mt. Rainier is around center.>
天候は最高。土曜日なのに訪問者はあまりいなかった。
<The weather was the best, even so, the visitors are not many.>
このスキー場に来た理由は、急斜面があると聞いたからだった。
<The reason what I came here is I heard there are steep slops.>
確かに斜度はどのコースも30以上はあると思う。
<Actually, there are many steep slops those have over 30 degree, I think.>
リフトの真下も滑走の跡があるが、とても危険な感じだ。
<There are traces of skiing right below the lift, but it looks very dangerous.>
もちろん林道コースもあるので心配は無用だ。
<Of cource, forest road is exist. Don't worry.>
この写真のコースはどれも整地されていて滑りやすかった。
<All of the steep slops in this picture were well gloomed and enjoyable to ski.>
後で気づいたが、整地されておらずコブが残ったコースもあった。
<Later, I noticed that there were un-gloomed and banpy slops.>
次回はチャレンジしてみよう。
<I'm looking forward to enjoy them at next chance.>

**4月3日にチャレンジしてみたので、感想を追記する。

CALAMITYというコースがコブ斜だ。こちらは斜度が大きく自分には手に負えない。
<CALAMITY is banpy slop. This slope is steep.>
もう一つUPPER RAYNOLDSにもコブがあった。こちらは斜度もあまりなく、コブも小さめで練習にはもってこいだ。ただし短いので何度もUPPER BOWLリフトに乗らなければならない。
<UPPER RAYNOLDS is also banpy slop, and it's good for beginner like me. But the slope is short, so I should take UPPER BOWL lift many times.>

標高が低いせいか昼からは雪がかなり緩んだので2時に切り上げ帰路についた。
<Because of the low elevation, the snow loosened up in the afternoon, so I quiped ski at 2pm and headed home.>
そう言えば帰り際にヘルメットに貼るステッカーが欲しくてゲレンデ内のお店によったら、無料でいただいた。ありがたい。感謝します。
<On the way home, I wanted a sticker to put on my helmet, so I stopped by a store and got one. But it was free. Thank you for giving me it.>
なお、このスキー場はナイタースキーで滑走可能コースが多いことで有名らしい。
<I heard the ski ground is famos for many slops that are available at nighter ski.>
アパートからも近くて行きやすい、しかも空いている。リフト設備は少し古いがゆったりとした時間が過ごせるいいスキー場だった。
<Foe me, it is close from my apartment, easy access, and not crowded. The equipment like lifts, are a little bit old, but no-problem. I could enjoy relux vacation time.>
また行こうと思う。
