アラスカにオーロラを見に行く（６日目、再度Dry Creekを目指す）I enjoyed Aurora again (Day 6, Dry Creek)
2021年12月29日、この日のAurora予報はLevel-3だ。しかし先日に続き吹雪警報が出ていた。
December 29th, 2021. Aurora forcast showed Level-3. However, weather forcast showed snow alart again.
再度周辺の天気予報を調べた。今日もDry Creekでは3:00amごろから曇りの予報だった。
I checked weather forcast around Fairbanks. I found the forcast said Dry Creek turned cloudy aroud 3am.
昨日は真っ暗の中を走って、タイヤチェーンが切れてあきらめて帰ってきたが、今日はなるべく明るいうちに走って、現地で車中泊をして深夜に起きてAuroraを観察しようと思った。
Yesterday, I drove in the midnight, and I gave up when tire-chine broke. I decided to start daytime and stay overnight at the destination.
万が一車が動かなくなっても、行きかう車があれば助けを求めることができると思ったからだ。
I thought I could ask someone to help me because there were many car in daytime if my car had trable.
昼過ぎに出発した。降雪は昨日ほどではなかったが慎重に30mile/hぐらいで進んだ。5~6時間ぐらいで到着する計画だった。
I left in the early afternoon. The snowfall was not as bad as yesterday, but I proceeded cautiously at about 30miles/h. I planned to arrive in about 5 to 6 hours.
昼間でも交通量はほとんどなかったが、時々追い越していく車があり安心感があった。
Even in the daytime, there are little trafic, however there were occasional cars passing me, which made me feel safe.
現地に着いたのは7:00pm過ぎだったと思う。日の入りが3時台なので既に真っ暗だった。
I arrived the destination 7pm. Because sunset was 3 o'clock, so it was already dark.
近くにガソリンスタンドがあったので、そこに車を停め仮眠することにした。ここは携帯電話の電波もキャッチできて安心だった。
There was a gas station. I stayed there because my phone could chatch signal.
夜中の1時ごろに目が覚めた時には雪はやんでいた。分厚い雲で星は見えなかったが、天候は回復傾向の予報なので観察場所に向かった。
When I woke up at around one in the morning, the snow had stopped. Thick clouds prevented me from seeing the stars, but the weather was forecast to improve, so I headed for the observation site.
観察場所に選んでいたパーキングは除雪されていなかった。
A parking that I had chosen for Aurora observation was not plowed.
もし車がスタックすると一人で脱出することは極めて難しいので、パーキングの入り繰りのみ自ら除雪し、そこに車を停めた。
If my car is stacked, it was quite difficult to move out, so I plowed snowfall by myself and parked there.
雲は多かったが、しばらくすると空の一部分が明るくなってきた。Auroraだった。
It was cloudy, however a part of sky was getting bright. It was Aurora.
雲の向こうでも、Auroraが動くのが分かった。
I recognized Aurora was moving even it behide cloud.
下の写真では少し赤い色が付いているが、肉眼では分からなかった。
Below photograph shows red color, but I couldn't see the color by my naked eyes.
初めは北東の空に見えていたが、それが長く伸びていき、南の空まで広がった。
At the beggining, Aurora apeared in North east sly, then it grew longer to southan sky.
二時間ほど見れたが、その後雲が厚くなってきて、徐々に見えなくなった。
I could see Aurora two hours, then cloud was getting thick, and I couldn't see it.
最後はこんな感じだ。この縞々のAuroraがもし直接見れたらどんなAuroraだったんだろうと思った。
The final scene was like below photograph. I wondered what Aurora I could see if there was not cloudy.
3時過ぎに観察を終了し、宿に戻ることにした。
I started to back at around 3 am.
二回目の観察でも見ることができた。なんてラッキーなんだと感謝した。
I could see Aurora again, and I honestly appreciated that I was a lacky.
宿には9時ごろに到着し、Peterのサンドイッチをいただいた後にしばらく寝た。
I arrived Airbnb around 9pm and eat Peter's sandwitch, then I went to bed.
