アメリカで運転中のパンクと修理費用 <Having a flat tire during driving in USA, and the repair cost>
今週月曜日（3月29日）、オレゴンの海岸からの帰りに運転中にタイヤがパンクした。
< I had a flat tire during coming back from Oregon coast on this Monday.>
ハンドルの後ろ側のパネルに左後ろタイヤの空気圧が減少しているという警告が出た。
<Alarm said left back side tire has low pressure.>
自分の車は適正値が33psiで、30未満になると注意メッセージがでる。
<My car's normal pressure is 33psi, when it is less than 30, the alarm appears.>
今回はいきなり警告メッセージが出たので圧力を確認すると26だった。
<At this time, the warning appeared suddenly, then I confirmed the pressure was 26psi.>
運転中にパンクしたのは初めてだったのだが、感覚的には全く分からなかった。
<It was a first time for me to have a flat tire during driving. And I couldn't have any strange feeling.>
田舎道の一般道路（オレゴン18号）を走行しており、安全な広い場所を見つけて車を側道に止めて、タイヤを確認した。
<I was in a country side in Oregon, I stopped my car at safety area, then watched it.>
タイヤが凹んでいる様に見えなかった。指で押しても、他のタイヤより少し柔らかいかも知れないと感じたくらいで、もしかしたら圧力センサーが壊れたのかとも思った。
<It looks normal, doesn't look like flat tire. When I push it, I didn't feel it is softer than the other, so I thought pressure gage might broken.>
車を少し動かしタイヤをよく見てみると、刺さっている釘が見つかった。
<I moved the car a little and watch it carefully, then I found a nail sticking on it.>
再度圧力を確認すると24まで下がっていたので、タイヤ交換することにした。
<The pressure downed to 24. I started to change it to spare tire.>
ちなみに、自分は昨年の年末まではロードサービスのAAAに入っていた。
<As for a road service, I enrolled AAA by the end of last year.>
もし入っていれば、呼んでタイヤ交換をやってもらえるが、広いアメリカの田舎道で呼んでも、直ぐに来ることは期待できないだろう。
<If I continue it now, I could taken the service, but I couldn't expect to have it immediately because of rural side of this large country.>
この後、スペアタイヤに交換し、帰路についた。
<I started to go back to my apartment after changing it.>
次の日にタイヤを購入（去年の10月）したお店(Discount Tire)にパンクしたタイヤを持ち込み修理を依頼した。
<On next day, I brought the tire to the shop that I bought it in last October.>
幸いにも釘は路面接地面に刺さっていたので修理が可能で、約20分で修理後のタイヤに交換してもらった。
<The nail sticks on the surface that contact to road, so repairing was possible. The repaired tire was set within only 20 minutes.>
驚いたのは、修理費用がタダということだ。理由は分からない。
<To my surprise, it was free. I'm not sure the reason.>
さらに後日、そのことを友人に話したら、普通タダだと言われた。本当だろうか？
<I told it my friend, he said free is usual. Seriasly?>
